Mijderswijk and Uithol ..... Waarder ...1781

Looking for the parents of Jacobus Mijderswijk and the parents of Maria Uithol.  Jacobus and Maria were married in Waarder  25 Feb 1781. 

I'm new to this site .... I'm sorry this isn't written in Dutch but English for me is so much faster.  Any advice would be so much appreciated.  Thank you in advance.

Waarder is a place in Zuid-Holland, for which a very convenient blog/site has been developed containing scans of so-called "DTB-books" (baptisms - marriages - burials), see:

When looking for Jacobus in the books of Waarder (dopen  District XIII: 1736-1755), I could identify at least the following candidate:

 

Jacob (Cornelisz) Mijderswijck, baptised December 12th 1751. His parents are called Cornelis Jacobsz Mijderswijck and Neeltje Jans de Wit. The scan can be found here.

 

 

Maria is even more trickier. I could identify at least the following candidate:

 

Mary (Bastiaansd) Uythol, baptised March 10th 1754. Her parents are called Bastiaan Uythol and Aaltje Hendr. van der Neut. Scan can be found here.

 

This assumes that both are born in Waarder, which might not be true.

Thank you for your quick reply.  I have the ancestors of Jacobus X Neeltje de Wit and their children.  I am looking for his cousin who married Maria Uithol.  I had thought maybe Jacobus married twice but they were both having children baptised at the same time...so there has to be more than one Jacobus Mijderwijk close in age.

 

In a large family, the 3rd generation could have several children with the same name.  It's just trying to piece it all correctly.  Again...thanks.  Wilma

Be aware I mentioned the above people could be candidates, I am not completely sure.

 

Just for information, the scans for the "(onder)trouw" of the couple:

 

Jacobus Mijderswijk can be found here. Another person called Jacobus Mijderwijk (without an "s") married December 2nd 1787. It can't be the same person as Jacobus and Maria got twins in 1788.

Hi Wilma,

 

Your Jacob is baptized on 21 Aug.1757. The Jacob that Hans found is a older sibling and died [most likely] prematurely.

I checked the baptizum witnesses of Mijderswijk / Uithol and found twice Niesje Meijderswijk and once Aaltje Mijderswijk among them They are sisters of the above Jacob .

So Hans got you the wright parents.

In regards to Maria Uithol.

Instead of Maria, the form Marrigje or Marijtje is quite often used.

I believe that your Maria is baptized as Marrigje on 25 of June 1758 in Waarder,. daughter of Frank Janse Uithol en Neeltje Pieters van der Pauw.

 

Looking at the names of the children in the Mijderswijk / Uithol family then I find Neeltje and twice Cornelia [official version of Neeltje] Three children named after Maria's and Jacob's mum and a child called Frank, named after her father.Son Cornelis is named after Jacob's father and twin brother Pieter after his maternal great grandfather.

Thanks for the Zuid Holland DTB website.  I have the CD's but I'm seeing the ondertrouw information for the first time.  Wonderful!  I'm trying to figure out how to get to the buriel information.

And yes...I'm also thinking Maria Uithol's parents are Frank Janse and Neeltje Pieters vd Pauw.

Pauwel:    The Jacobus Mijderwijk you found was married to Ariaantje Spek.  I have his death date as 19 Dec 1798  and they were married 12 May 1782 Oudewater.  He was born 21 Aug 1757 Waarder.  Their last child was born in 1788 so I think you found a correct death year (1788).  He also had an older  brother Jacob born 1751 but I have not found his death date yet....most likely before 1757.
