Looking for the father and ancestor of Pieter van Ameijde who married Anna Verkerk.
Dear Hans
I think the people on this forum would appreciate a little more information. In what time period did these people live, and where, any known relatives?
Thanks.
Dear JP Ouweltjes,
Thank you for your response, before in the same forum I try to continue the lineage of Pieter and Anna. Maybe circa 1700 or 1750. they are from Gelderland Province.
Regards
Hans
Hi A van Egmond,
That's right my question has not been answered.
Regards
Hans
Notice of marriage Culemborg (nederd. geref.) 3 november 1759 Pieter van der Meijde from Veenendaal and living in Culemborg, and Anna Verkerk, born and living in Culemborg [link]. Married the 18th of that month.
Thank you very much JP Ouweltjes , I really appreciate your help and I am very glad to know the archive.
Ana Verkerk's baptism in Culemborg on the 31st of January 1731 as Anneke, daugter of Otto Huiberse Verkerk and Teuntje van Noort [link]. On img 390 another child, where the mother was named Teuntje van Oort. You could also refer to this web page:

Thank you for your response JP Ouweltjes, I really appreciate it.
I want to ask again, is it common when Anna became Anneke during that time? And do you know the father of Teuntje van Oort?
Anneke and Anna can be considered the same. The suffix -ke in Anneke originally referred to little/young. So read it as "young Anna". Same holds for Annetje, Antje etc.
Little chance you will ever find the parents of Teuntje. It seems the parish records of Tricht don't go back that far. Perhaps their relatives lived in neighbouring places, then you might be lucky if you check out this name list: link
I will try to check the list of names.
Thank you very much JP Ouweltjes for your response, I really appreciate it.
Something I can recommend you to check are the parish records of Veenendaal, where Pieter came from. You can find transcriptions here and here. According to several web sites, his father was Arie Cornelisse van der Geer. So his father did not use the family name Van Ameijde, but his brothers and his father did. I advise you not to follow such claims blindly but to make a careful check yourself.
Cheers.
