Als ik de huwelijksakte goed lees van Johanna van der Molen op het moment dat ze ging trouwen inwonend in Alkmaar. Willem was voordat ging trouwen 5 jaar in militaire dienst bij de infanterie. Hij verliet de militaire dienst op 12 maart 1831, en ging daarna trouwen op 8 mei 1831 te Wormerveer. Mogelijk heeft Willem zijn vrouw Johanna leren tijdens zijn dienst periode. We moeten dan alleen nog nagaan waar hij gelegerd was. Was dit in Alkmaar of daar in de buurt?

Agatha (Aafje) Graas dochter van Willem Graas en Johanna van der Molen  en geboren 07.12.1841 Wormerveer . Agatha is vernoemd naar haar oma Aagje Derks Nieweboer de vrouw van Theodorus van der Molen.
Agatha Graas is gedoopt op 07.12.1841 Wormerveer in de Onze Lieve Vrouwe Kerk (kan haar doopinschrijving nog niet vinden in de archieven, wie waren de de doopgetuigen)

I wished I had Agatha's picture, but unfortunately, one doesn't survive, to my knowledge.  Also, I wished I had better news on extending the line backward in time as well as filling in the burial dates of Barend and his wife, and mother.

I believe the begraven record refers to the following child:

Baptism for Alidam, daughter of Jan Graas et Grietje Jans. Witness: Engelbertus Graas (Beemster) (19 January 1745) in the Purmerend RK:

What is puzzling is the church marriage record for Jan Graas et Grietje Jans was recorded in April 1745, which means Jan was not married twice. The Purmerend records contain entries from Wormer.

Located what I believe is the marriage record for Maritje Barents, the one who was a witness to presumed brother Harmen Barentsz (23 July 1751: Marrijtje, daughter of Harmen Barentse and Marrijtje Willems. Witness: Maertje Barentse) and Jan Barentsz Graas.

According to this marriage record filed in Purmerend on 29 October 1735, it shows Jacob Corn(elis) Groetboer married Maritje Barents on 30 October 1735. The same record indicates the couple "wonende in de Wijde Wormer." It looks like it gives Maritje's birthplace as "Oijtrop (sp) in Munsterland."  If so, then this branch of the Graas family could have been from Germany.  Just speculation right now.

Ogtrop wordt ook wel geschreven als Ochtrup dit een klein stadje aan de grens van Enschede, de plaats waar ik woon. 
Zal kijken of ik in Ochtrup wat meer informatie kan krijgen over de familie Graas.

This appears to be the case. And it makes sense when you consider Alida Graas was baptized on 19 January 1745, and a few months later, on 17 April 1745, the child passed away and the burial impost was recorded.  

Wished I could have located Hermen's marriage record, but we now have another family member to contemplate: Engelbertus Graas, the man whose name appeared as a baptismal witness.    

According to FamilySearch, I think I may found the municipality: Ochtrup, Westfalen, Preußen, Germany. There are Taufen, Heiraten, Tote 1667-1809 to go through. Unfortunately, I have to go to a public library in Rochester to hunt down any possible records. Again, all of this is preliminary speculation. In my initial scroll through these registers, I could not find any family members with the last name of Gras/Graas among the entries. I may misread the 1735 marriage record for Maritje Barents. Right now, no luck in finding Herman, Maritje, Everhardus or Jan Graas in the register.
