Arnolda Van der Gino or Van der Guine Van Tiem/Van Mullkom possibly was living in a town within thirty miles of the German border. Name of the town was possibly Walen, Wallen, Wollen, Wellin. Arnolda Van der Gino or Van der Guine Van Tiem/Van Mullkom possibly owned a hotel on a hill in the town. Arnolda told the family that she could hear the German guns during their invasion of Alsace-Lorraine in 1870. Arnolda immigrated to the United States of America in 1871. The Van Assche's, Brys', and Ver Heyden's came over to America on the same boat. They sailed for 90 days across the Atlantic Ocean. They walked the Erie Canal together to get to Michigan.
