Ook nog .. Volgens mij is hij niet in niet in Hull, Sioux county IA overleden, maar in zijn vaste woonplaats George, Lyon county IA (mogelijk in de township Wheeler)

He was somewhat of a character about town, poor but honest. The Mews, last week contained a nearly two column article on the subject, and although making no excuses foi' the neglect, regrets that there was no agency in George to look after such matters. Perhaps not, but the chances are that in his day John wore a Red Cross button with the rest and if we are not mistaken the Red Cross of Lyon county (and perhaps of George, too) has several thousand dollars in the treasury that have never been spent. But then, the band was not playing when John died"
