Héloïse
First, the easy part, his birth certificate: LINK (upper rght)
His father was "veldwachter" (local policeman), 48 years old, living in Pastoorstraat in Wijk (part of Maastricht, on the other site of the river Maas)
Click here for the birth certificate (the top record on the right page).
The birth was registered on 3rd of February 1823, but Hubertus Josephus van Hulst was born on the 1st of February (eergisteren = the day before yesterday). He was born at 23.00 hours. His father was a rural policeman.
Hi,
Thank you for your answers. Dutch is for me very difficult thank you for the translations.

De man zat dus in het Vreemdelingenlegioen.
Netherlands people worked or France ?
They need help for Algeria ?
Because here, in France I just heard only France not other countries.
@Frank

Hello Eloise, I do the translation via Google so there may be some errors.
Your Hubertus Josephus van Hulst is in my family tree. He still had 14 brothers and sisters. If you want further information, can we do that by other means?
