Hello everybody,
Yesterday, Joyce van Lingen, told me about Benjamin and thought it maybe my husband's great uncle. I have been to every link that has been suggested on this forum but all I have found are a couple of newspaper articles announcing his death. Joyce says he is buried in Ambon Cemetery and the words are:
Hier rust Benjamin Morbeck, in leven 3e Machinist Gouv. Marine, geb te Pasoeroean 3.1.1898 omgekomen bij de ramp van het S.S. "Valk" te Ambon 17 Feb 1918.
Some of the sites wont give me access and others have no information regarding his parents. When I "googled" SS Valk, it did not mention a wreck. The cemetery at Ambon only shows me victims of WW2.
Can anybody tell me who he is and who his parents were?

Yes, I am trying to prove that he is but don't know where to find out who his parents are. It does seem likely. I just want to know for sure. Also cannot find out about the Disaster of the Falcon anywhere.

I actually worked out what happened without the translator so getting better.
What a terrible way to die.
I sent a message to the maritime museum to see if they have any documents.
