To my fellow posters on this forum, Happy New Year from the US. We have roughly another 5-plus hours to go before 2025 arrives. May I also use this opportunity to express my gratitude to those of you who have helped me with my genealogy research into my late father's ancestors over the years.

Dream on, Steve... most of the professional fireworks shows were cancelled due to the weather and strong winds. But the non-professional fireworks get heavier year by year in spite of warnings and municipal bans. Only one death so far, but any number of maimings.
Anyway, our best wishes for you, too. I wish you a successful year, personally and genealogically.
To all fellow posters and friends, a happy new year from New Zealand. We are always the first [22 hrs ago]. Here are less problems with fire works as an island nation. Its so easy to buy forbidden fireworks when you have free border crossings.
