Hello

Today I was looking up a person on GenealogieOnline and their birth date was not the same as mine, yet mine was sourced correctly.  I found another person with an incorrect date so and both were out by exactly one day (example: on GenealogieOnline it was 7 March 1901 and on mine it was 8 March 1901).  So I searched for my father seeing as I know for sure his exact dates.  His birth date was one day before (called a 1 day backward shift), but his death date exact.  So I googled it and found that there was a problem with my upload OR my GEDCOM via "Reunion for the Mac".  So I checked the GEDCOM file and there were no 'triggers' to suggest I had extra details to make it change the date (like 'time' or other settings that could change this date).  My file was as it was supposed to be.  MyHeritage and Geneanet.org had my dates correct.

I live in New Zealand and this site is in Netherlands.  According to google (AI) it seems to be picking up a time somewhere (not from my file, that's for sure, because I do not enter a time).  After doing the test by looking at my GEDCOM file and checking I did the export with the correct settings, it said that GenealogieOnline is importing my file incorrectly and likely a "bug" in their interpreter when I upload it.  They suggested to contact Bob Coret, but he has never answered any emails or FB messages ever.  So I am asking the members on this site to see if they had similar issues and found a fix for this site, or if anyone else had this issue - presume this only happens with different time zone countries - me in NZ, this website in Netherlands.

I found no settings on GenealogieOnline that allowed me to check or edit time zone settings on import of GEDCOM.  I feel an urgent need for this to be fixed before other people on here check their Smart Matches or simply copy my dates - not all are incorrect so it's not a case of correcting each person after every GEDCOM import - 11,000 people is too large for me to correct each time I upload an edited GEDCOM.

Appreciate any help, or even if someone who has successfully contacted Bob Coret before, to ask him on my behalf.

Kind regards - Liz

@Liz van Gelder,
See also   Datum in GO niet gelijk aan GEDCOM :

Ik ga er vanuit dat het niet uitsluitend deze 4 gevallen betreft, maar dat er iets structureel niet helemaal goed gaat in de verwerking van de GEDCOM door GO.

Hello Willem

Correct - I checked just 5 of my people and the date was incorrect, sometimes both birth and date, sometimes just one, sometimes the marriage date also.  I definitely think that something is going wrong at the processing of the GEDCOM by GO.

Thank you for answering - Liz

I assume that it does not only concern these 4 cases, but that something is structurally not going well in the processing of the GEDCOM by GO.
