She came to The Hague 12/11/1920 when she was enrolled column 12 and 13.
Excuse that I can not explain.

I just went back to a link I had last night and I don't think Emma is our Sophie but she is the one you have just put up. It makes sense as Paul came from Groningen when he migrated to Australia and this Sophie is the only one that I can see being called "Tante Ali". I am going to see Paul tomorrow so hopefully he will remember.

Sylvia,
It certainly makes life easier. I don't have to translate things to make sure I don't confuse people lol.

Monique,
You are brilliant. Thank you. Ernst Morbeck will be pleased too as his grandfather and Henri were brothers.
I kept seeing the name Minnema and could not work out how it fitted in. Fantastic.

hi Elizabeth,
Chérie Morbeck is the daughter of Henri Morbeck (12-8-1893, Pasoeroean) and Maria Johanna Schneider.
She passed away just last year. She was married with Jan Willem Broekhuijsen.
I am the daughter of Chérie Morbeck. She has also a son: Boyd Broekhuijsen (Henri Otto Broekhuijsen)
Do I have living relatives of ''Morbeck''...?! Maybe in Groningen?
Maybelline (Joyce) Broekhuijsen - 4 jan 2015 - 23:35
Hello Joyce,
I am getting very excited now and going straight to my tree to check. You certainly have a cousin in Holland - Ernst Morbeck who I am sure will see this. My husband's parents moved to Australia i 1950 so I don't believe there are any Morbecks there. Will be back in a minute when I look at the tree.

Hello Joyce,
Your mother was the niece of Henrietta Morbeck - (she was a cousin of my father in law who is still alive but in Australia). If you send me your email address I can send you an invitation to my ancestry tree and there are many many photos of your great aunts and uncles. You don't have to pay anything, just follow the links.

Hi Joyce,
According to the records, she also had a brother - Harry Pieter Frederick Morbeck who was killed during the war when he was being transported to Nagasaki on a prisoner ship the "Tamahoku Maro" which was bombed by an American ship justas it reached the harbour of Nagasaki. All this information is on my tree.

Thank you Elisabeth,
Because there were a lot of Australians on the ship, there is a memorial in our capital city Canberra specifically to those who died that day I will see if I can get a photo of it as a cousin of mine lives in Canberra. I think there were over 200 Australians. A lot of the information I managed to get was from the Australian War Memorial but they don't name all the Dutch.
Once again you have been extremely helpful
Best wishes for the new year
Libby
