Ik ben de afstammeling van de 5e generatie van Johanna Schouw, geboren op 23 augustus 1809 in Oud en Nieuw Gastel.

Zij is de dochter van Hendrik Hendrikus Schouw, geboren op 5 maart 1768 in Oud en Nieuw Gastel, overleden voor 1850 in Oud en Nieuw Gastel en Maria K(C)ostermans, geboren 27 februari 1779 in Hoeven en overleden op 21 mei 1822 in Oud en Nieuw Gastel.

Johanna Schouw had 2 kinderen t.w. Hendrik Hendrikus Schouw, geboren op 28 februari 1833 in Oud en Nieuw Gastel, overleden op 17 september 1919 in Oudenbosch en Anna Catharina Schouw, geboren op 23 november 1835 in Oud en Nieuw Gastel, overleden op 21 april 1837 in Oud en Nieuw Gastel. De vader van beide kinderen is ONBEKEND.

Wie kan mij meer vertellen over Johanna Schouw? Ik zou graag willen weten waar zij naar toe is gegaan na de geboorte van haar kinderen, wanneer en waar zij overleden is en wie de vader van haar kinderen is geweest.

De door U genoemde Johanna Schouw is de dochter van Johannis (Jan) Schouw. Ik ben van hem een afstammeling van de 6e generatie van een neef.

het overlijden van Johanna Schouw op 13-09-1838 wordt ook vermeld in de huwelijksbijlagen van haar zoon Hendrik Schouw met Adriana Suijkerbuijk op 04-08-1856 te Hoeven

Hi Frans and Yvonne B..... and everyone :) 

I am a descendant also.... of this Henricus Schouw.  Mum was a Schouw born in Netherlands but she moved to Australia with her parents when she was a  child.. I would love to connect with you both.  Are you users of Ancestry or My Heritage? facebook? Family Search?  I have been actively finding records for the Schouw family for Family Search and attaching them.... so it may be a good place to see the family tree together.  

I have connected with a Schouw still in Netherlands, who is also a descendant but our Schouw connection is our great grandparent Schouw. Schouw.  

The Henricus/Hendrik Schouw who married Maria Kostermans..... he married twice.   Maria Kostermans was his first wife and they had nine children together (that we have found records for so far).... we only had eight until I saw this post and have added Johanna Schouw to the family tree... THANK YOU xxx .  Maria Kostermans died on 5 May 1822.  In December 1822, Hendrik married Elisabeth Vanmuelen... and they had three children together. These are my direct ancestors.  I have found the records and put them onto Family Search.... births, deaths, marriages... etc. and I am happy to help find records for anyone you are struggling to find information on.

I have also found information further back if you are interested.... I noticed a roadblock in the family research and spoke to my Schouw cousin in Netherlands to talk about the family tree and know what is fact.. what is unknown still. With this Henricus Schouw (who married Maria Kostermans).... we knew his parents names... but weren't certain of his grandparents.... but we have found the information and I have uploaded it all to Family Search in the hope the descendants will find it and have the information for their own family trees.  My personal attitude to family research is that I am happy to share any records or research I have, open to feedback because mistakes are easy to make... and collaboration can get the most progress.... I feel I am honouring my ancestors and they deserve to be remembered correctly.  

On the marriage record for Henricus Schouw and Maria Kostermans.... the handwritten parish record.... it shows Henricus was born in Oudenbosch.... which is the first piece of information I found that suggests who his parents are.... I had assumed he was also born in Old and New Gastel.   I found his birth record, there was only ONE for a Schouw (and variants of the name)... in Oudenbosch.  His parents are Adrianus Henricus Schouw and Johanna Rombout Maetjens (unsure of the spelling, I just copied the transcribed record from Open Archives).  I have put this information and attached the sources onto Family Search with the explanation of the research.
