Apparently, all the van Dijck of Delft and south Holland, untill the Batavian Republic, are the same family, coming from the van Teylingen van Brederode van Heemskerk van Dijck van Adrichem, originating in he House of Leuwen Counts of Henegouwen . Leuwen and Dukes of Brabant. The Paats, descendants van Vorenbroeck/ van Sonnevelt, seem to belong to the van pedze/Peize Viscounts van Coevorden; one daughter Peize van Almelo married the burgraf van Leyden Philip van Wassenaar, explaining why Roelof Paats, father of Floris Paets van Sonnevelt were cousins.. Confusion has arised from a fake ancient charter portraying the van Teylingen Brederode as sons of the Counts of Holland, when they are from the van Breda/van Brunesheim/Brunenrode_Geruz side of Count Lambert I van Leuwen. To help find the various lines of the family in Holland, one can look for coats of arms with three lions; Paaats van Leyden have the tree lions, as well as de Leuw van Wenna, Bockel, Bockel van den Rijn, van de Velde, etc...and of course van Teylingen. The whole dynasty is called Reginar.
The Paats van Santhorst have a marriage with the Van Dick van Adrichem two generations earlier ; So it looks like the Paats van Dijck are maternal nephews of the Paats van Santhorst. The van Dijck take their origin in he Reginar dynasty, the Paats apparently too,so they are also brother lines..
