These were not her parents as indicated in previous response. But don't rule out that there may be a relation connection. research is hard because many documents in the Arnhem area were destroyed by fire during world war two bombings. Amsterdam also didn't keep really good records during the 19th century on the ill that died outside of the big hospital. according to my documents by her son Joannes she was very ill at the time of her death.

 Auto corrections changed some names and order off events. I have made some corrections to the names and events in previous reply. Anna (Johanna) married Hermanuus van Doornik. The child also born under the name of Anna was born Oct 09, 1783 and died Oct 19, 1783. The above Anna married to Hermanuus was born Oct 30, 1784. Hendrina's Child Catharina was raised by her grandparents and listed on her marriage certificate as her parents. I can only assume the reason for this was that Hendrina was unable to care for the child herself given her age and being unmarried.

I was wondering if anyone would be able to translate a document for me. It is on the birth of what I believe could be another child of my 4x great grandmother. the childs name was Petronella Wenting born April 18th, 1814 in Arnhem, Gelderland. Gelders Archive civil registration archive 207- inventory number 52 record number 104.

In short it says that Hendrica Wenting has given birth to a daughter while in proximity of witnesses and that the daughter has been given the name of Petronella.

Birth has been reported by the midwife and the birth took place at the house of Geertrui Berends.

Apparently no father was reported.

Thank you so much I really appreciate your help. If you are from the line of a van Egmond we are probably related.. My Mother's, mother was a van Egmond.

Is your grandmother from Holland or is one her ancestors the one who left Holland?

Do you know from what area they originate? My line stems from Rotterdam (from mid 19th century onwards), from Utrecht before that (from the beginning of the 18th century) and from Egmond before that.

Yes my mother and father were born in Utrecht and came to Canada in 1952. My grandmothers name was Mijntje van Egmond her parents were Antoon Hendrik van Egmond  1871- 1922 and her mothers name was Mijntje Smitskamp 1868-1940. Most from Utrecht I have the Van Egmond family back to 1705. My Great Grandparents were Rijk van Egmond 1837-1911 and Alleta Elisabeth de Bie 1836-1913 any connection?

I just thought I would let you know that I just confirmed my suspicions with the generous help on this forum in translating something for me, that Hendrina (Hendrica) Wenting did have another child born on April 18th 1814 in the house of Geertruida Berendsen and Peter van Doornik. these are the parents of Hendrina's sister Anna's (Johanna) (Hanna) husband Hermannus van Doornik. His parents as above.

Hendrina was born November 10th 1781  to Joanna Westhoff (Westhof) born  in Oud Zevenaar June 09, 1757- Nov 23 1826- she was the daughter of Theodorus Westhoff and Joanna de Baeij. She had 5 siblings Hendrica  March 9th 1747, Wilhelmina 1749, Helena 1750, Joannes 1752, and Melchildis 1755 she was the youngest of 6 children.

Hendrina's Father was Joannes Wenting born abt 1750 in Duiven and died April 01, 1825 no information on him yet but I am working on it.

Hendrina's Children are as follows 

Her first child with Joannes Hermsen was Baptized in 1802 she was age 21 they never married that I can find. this child was raised by Hendrina's parents as one of their children.

Her second child born Joannes Wenting was born April 29th, 1811 father not known, she was 30

Her third Child born was Petronella Wenting  was born April 18th, 1814  she was 33

all children were born in Arnhem.

By court documents that I have she apparently died sometime on or around 1828 in Amsterdam but I am unable to find any record of her living there. I have found however two marriages for Petronella in Rotterdam and two hospitalizations for Petronella in Amsterdam. In all instances Hendrica or Hendrina written as mother overladen and no father mentioned.

Most likely so. My line runs from the illegitimate son (Franciscus Jacobus Frederikus) of Francina Paulina van Egmond (1827-1889), daughter of Hemme Rijk van Egmond (1798-1874) and Paulina Brouwer (1797-1867). My impression is that she left Utrecht for Rotterdam to have this baby delivered away from family or community. She never returned.

I have not yet checked but I suspect that Francina Paulina might be a sister or cousin to your Rijk van Egmond?

I just checked.

My Paulina Francina was daughter of Hemme Rijk van Egmond (1798-1874) who was son of Rijk van Egmond (1771-1810) and Jannetje Koopman (1770-1852).

Your Rijk van Egmond was son of Jacob van Egmond (1803-1890) who was also a son of Rijk van Egmond (1771-1810) and Jannetje Koopman (1770-1852).

So yes, we're definitely related

Yes I just finished checking as well and Herme Rijk van Egmond is my 4 x great Uncle and his parents  Rijk van Egmond and Jannetje Koopmans were my 4 x great grandparents.

You have no idea how much you helped me to piece together and solve a puzzle I have been working on for about two years now, by translating that document for me. I try my best with Google translate but sometimes it just doesn't make sense so I know I am missing a letter or spelling a letter, or two incorrectly in the translation.

I have the van Egmond family tree all the way back to my 8 x great grandparents dating to 1637

Petronella married July 13, 1859 for the first time in Amsterdam. the groom was Nicolaas Sieveking. the document on the marriage North Holland Archives record number Reg.6 fol. 46 if you could tell me who Johannes Wenting mentioned, what his relationship to her is and his age and if there is any details along with on her mother Hendrina Wenting where she was living or when died . There are three words after his Johanne's name that I am having difficulties with reading.
