'Came to US in 1926' en 'formerly of Linden, NJ' past inderdaad beter dan Maryland.

JerryOvereem

Hi Jerry,

I noted down some stuff that I found on Helen en Frank on page 3 of this topic, but I'll give you the English translation:

1926 (New York passenger lists)

Helene Wajchert (a divorced photographer born abt 1901 in Potsdam, Germany) arrives in New York.

Ze is on her way to her stepdad Paul Haus  who's living on 561 Madison Ave, Elizabeth (Union cty) NJ (!! This name can also be found on Frank Mulders WW2 draft registration).

Hermann Haus, a baker and a brother of Paul is also on the list. He is travelling with his direct family.

1 april 1931 (Florida Marriages)

Frank Mulder and Helen Wajchert are married in Dade, FL (is the year incorrect, were Sophie and Frank divorced or was Frank a bigamist????)

1932/1934 (Springfield Directories – Summit NJ)

“Mulder Frank B (Helen Mulder) delica 268 Morris Av h at Irvington”

ie it looks as if they were running a deli

1942 (WW2 “old man’s” draft registration)

Frank Bernard Mulder born 16/10/1887 in Rotterdam is living on 30 Henshaw Ave Springfield, Union NJ.

Paul House is living at the same address.

Frank is working at a hotel in New Hampshire.

1949-1960 (Daytona Beach FL directories) - always living on  h1305 N Atlantic av

1949 - “Mulder Frank B (Helen W) chef Princess Issena Hotel h1305 N Atlantic av”

1956 - “Mulder Frank B (Helen W) baker Daytona Plaza Hotel h1305 N Atlantic av”

“Helen W Mrs hlpr Daytona Plaza Hotel h1305 N Atlantic av”

1958 - “Mulder Frank B (Helen W) pastry chef Princess Issena Hotel h1305 N Atlantic av”

1967 (SSDI)

Frank Mulder born 16/10/1887 dies April 1967 (last res Florida)

1993 (SSDI)

Helen W Mulder born 27 jan 1901 dies Dec 1993 (last res Florida)

a few notes:

- There is a possibility that Wajchert had not been her maiden name

- A daughter of Hermann Haus was most likely the executor of Helen's estate: In the 1994/1995 papers is a mention of Dorothy Wood Johnson from Point Pleasant NJ.

Hi,

Sorry for not responding earlier; I'm currently very busy with matters outside genealogy, but I'll try to respond in detail within a few days.

Much additional information is contained in the earlier posts in this thread.

I do have a lot of extra data regarding Frans Mulder and his ancestry, if that might be of interest.

Kasper Ludeman

Dear Sylvia - Thank you for responding and I believe what you are saying but I have a 1930 Census with Frank and Sophie in Brooklyn in 1930 - and I found the 1931 marriage and I have the death certificate 1932 with Sophie - so I confused - I don't have a World War 2 Draft app but that would be 1942 anyway !  I have a Worl War One Draft and he is with Sophie - I heard that he went to New Hampshire and maybe Florida - but I can ask my Uncle !    I have built a Gaddum tree that goes back to 1775 ! but I have no info on Frank !   and Kasper that you for sharing everything point to Frans Mulder being Dutch not French, but looking for your lead ! !    I have photos of Sophie sister - Jacqueline my Grandmother and Hermina   - Sophie sister's
