I would like help, please, to read the side note along the left side of the marriage record of Hermanus Leonardus Tans (incorrectly indexed as "Fans") and Marianna Dammers who were married in Veen, NB on 16 July 1846.  The record contains two pages, but my problem is with the side note on page one. See below.

I think the point of it is that the father of the groom is named Bernardus, and also known as Leonardus -- but I am not sure.  

What I am looking for is the exact Dutch transcription of the side note.  A translation to English would be helpful and appreciated, too, but not necessary.

I gather that the name Leonardus is correct and that Bernardus was an aberration -- a mistake in the death certificate.
 

But I invite corrections to this interpretation.

So then it becomes:

Rough translation:

Approval of the deletion of the name Bernardus and its replacement by Leonardus.

Approval of the words "two and" [two and forty or 42 thus becomes forty].

Parties and witnesses [to this marriage] declare on oath that the groom's father called Bernardus in his death certificate is the same person as the one called Leonardus in the record of [the groom's] baptism.

Toevoeging: kan iemand de vrager misschien de link naar de huwelijkse bijlagen verschaffen?

The clerk had to specify why he changed names in an official document because he was held accountable for any mistakes. That's why they are mentioned at the left side of the document to be "approved" and made according to the rules by his superiors.

This was very helpful -- I do not think I would have found the huwelijksbilagen without this.

Thank you all for your help.  This confirms something I have long suspected -- that the mysterious Leonardus Tans was the same person as my well-known Bernardus Tans. 

You were all so helpful.

A final comment: both names can be shortened for daily use to Nardus (at least in this part of the country). And the outsider who had to register the death might not know whether this particular Nardus should be Leonardus or Bernardus, and just tried a guess.
