Hello,
My apologies for only speaking English. That is the reason I would really like some help. A couple of my female ancestors had the occupation boomster. This is in Haarlem around the 1810's. If there is anyone who could please help me with what this occupation is in English. It would be very much appreciated.
Met vriendelijke groet
Charlie
The word boomster is most likely derived from “boomen” or pushing a boat forwards with a “vaarboom” which is a long pole with possibly a hook attached to it. The English verb would be punting.

Thank you very much Sylvia. That's very interesting!
BTW I just realised we're residing in the same country ....
