Thanks, JP, for the find. I think you may be right that Rens Jansz could be the father.  A shame we have to go through deeds to get the answers.  One thing I have noticed in tracing some of my Dutch lines in this region of Noord Holland is the gaps in both the church and notary records. Incidentally, the female ancestor that connects me to this family line is Maartje Pieterse (dopen: 22 October 1730 at Winkel; begraven: 12 March 1781 at Warmenhuizen) who married Jan Jansz van der Molen on 10 December 1754 at Warmenhuizen.  Her parents were Pieter Huijbertszn Wittebol and Maartjen Gerritsdr (dopen: 1 October 1704 at Winkel).

When I looked at the marriage impost for Jan Jansz van der Molen and Maartje Pieterse, the couple said they were both living at Wamenhuizen.  Maartjen may have moved from Winkel, either with her parents or for some other unknown reason.  To date, I have not located a begraven record or land deed transaction involving Pieter Huijbertszn Wittebol and Maartjen Gerritsdr. In the scheme of things, Maartjen would be the great-grandaughter of the subject of this thread.  Incidentally, Pieter Huijbertszn's family does not appear in the Winkel verponding 1742.
