Hi! I am looking for a birth certificate for my mother and her twin sister... Leisel Lotte and LotteLeisel.. I believe their monther was Hermine Ullrich May 18, 1930 in Winsehendorf, Schlesien, thank for any and all assistance.
as pointed out before, birth records from 1930 are not yet public and therefore are not accessible online. you will have to contact the the registry office of the city/county of birth.
The former Prussian province of Schlesien (Silesia) nowadays (since 1945) mostly is in current Poland, not Germany. Is there no other info about your mother and her sister?? Immigration records?? Marriage certificate?? No known father?? Also I think German spelling would rather be Liesel instead of Leisel.
Google does not give any info for Winsehendorf, only one result which mentions 'Winsehendorf bei Lanban in Schlesien', which might mean that Winsehendorf (dorf = village) was in the area of the current Polish city of Luban (Lauban in German). https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Luba%C5%84
Maybe you can find some useful links here https://www.cyndislist.com/poland/
Thanks so much, it looks like the twins could have been born in Sachsisch Haugsdorf Kries Laugban, then baptized in Wunschendorf... all I really have is my mother's handwritten notes... then they moved to Martinwaldau Kreis Bunzlau in the summer of 1930. Her Mother's name was Hermine Hase.. she thought her father was Herman Seihndel, but they weren't married until fall of 1932. I have Hermine's records that were issued in 1947 after the war, but not my mother's..... she thought her twin sister died in 1941 or 42 in the Martinwaldau area of dyptheria.
So the info definitely seems to point at Lauban/Luban area. Kreis is something like a county in the US. All villages you named now have Polish names/are in Polish territory.
Maybe the Heimat Archiv can give you advice, lubania@t-online.de, Kurt Michael Beckert. Or you can try and contact the Luban City Archiv. Might be helpful if you can get help with German and Polish language.
